Referrals


Call your insurance company to determine if a referral is needed prior to an appointment with a specialist,
and to confirm that your preferred specialist is in network with your plan.

If a referral is needed, please click on “Referral Request” in the Patient Portal,
or call our office at (703) 421-7000, and Press Menu Option 2.

Please allow 3-7 business days for referral requests to be completed.
Late requests cannot be guaranteed, as your insurance carrier must approve the request.

Patients must have been seen by SFP within 1 year of the referral request. 
SFP staff may ask you to make an appointment with one of our providers prior to issuing your referral.
