Major Insurances Accepted

Note: You should always check with your insurance to verify plan and product coverage as this is not an exhaustive list, and plans change frequently.


Please call our office to update your insurance with SFP before your appointment, failure to do so may result in paying the full office visit for your appointment


Payment Options


We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and personal checks.


At check-in we will:

  • Request co-pays and  applicable fees related to your office visit or past due fees.
  • Full payment is expected if SFP is unable to verify your Health Insurance at the time of your visit.
  • Full payment  at the time of  your office visit if you do not have Health Insurance.
  • Full payment for all vaccinations not covered by insurance or if you do not have health insurance.


After your insurance has paid their portion, we will:


  • Notify you via mail of the balance owed
  • You may contact our billing department at 703-421-7000 or you may pay online through your patient portal.
  • For labs contact your insurance first about any labs invoices, secondly call the corresponding lab. Lastly, scan your invoice request and email or call our office
    for us to follow up.



  • No Shows $50.00


  • Missed Appointment  $50.00


  •  Late Cancellation (less than 24hours)  $50.00


  •  Second no show/missed appointment, late cancellation less than 24 hours



Insurance Participation


At Sterling Family Practice we participate in many managed care plans and see patients with traditional insurance. See the detailed above.  Many plans require that you make a co-payment at the time of your visit. To make it as easy as possible for you, we accept cash, checks and most major credit cards at our office.


Please bring your insurance card with you for each visit and notify our front desk with any insurance coverage updates before your appointment. Failure to do so may result in full payment if SFP is unable to verify your Health Insurance at the time of your visit.


Unfortunately we are not accepting new Medicaid & Medicare patients at this time.
